Curriculums

WILSON LANGUAGE PROGRAM

Wilson is a provider of research-based reading and spelling programs for all ages. Its multisensory, structured curricula – Fundations®, Wilson Just Words®, the Wilson Reading System®, and Wilson Fluency®/Basic have been proven highly effective.

  • Fundations serves as a prevention program to help reduce reading and spelling failure. It is integral to a Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS) or Response to Intervention (RTI) framework, providing research-based instruction in Tier 1 as well as early intervention (Tier 2) for students at risk for reading difficulties. To support the implementation of an MTSS or RTI framework, progress monitoring is built into Fundations. This allows students requiring a more intensive program to be identified early before undergoing years of struggle.
  • The Wilson Reading System® (WRS) is the flagship program of Wilson Language Training® and the foundation of all other Wilson programs. WRS is an intensive Tier 3 program for students in grades 2-12 and adults with word-level deficits who are not making sufficient progress through their current intervention; have been unable to learn with other teaching strategies and require multisensory language instruction; or who require more intensive structured literacy instruction

TOUCH MATH

The TouchMath program is a multisensory, step by step approach that makes math both appealing and accessible for students who are challenged to understand mathematical concepts. The program’s blended use of touch and technology engage students on auditory, visual and tactile/kinesthetics levels.

UNIQUE LEARNING SYSTEMS

The Unique Learning Systems (ULS) is an online standards based curriculum designed for students with special needs. ULS offers students access to the general curriculum including: reading, writing, math, science and social studies. The ULS is geared for students from preschool to transition years, including a wide variety of thematic units.

The lessons are interactive and include a teat to speech option providing students with a multimodal approach to learning. The lessons and activities are compatible with tablets, whiteboards and SMART Boards.

PRE-VOCATIONAL

The integration of vocational education and training is important for giving students with special needs the opportunity to access mainstream provisions during their educational years.

Training includes workspace behaviors, occupational skills and career awareness, as well as work exploration opportunities to help these students identify career interests while supporting transition into adulthood.

Scholastic “Big Day for Pre-K”

Big Day for Pre-K is a core curriculum used in our preschool and Spanish dominant preschool classes. This program is in both English and Spanish and focuses on “big experiences” that are centered on youngsters’ natural curiosity that encourages them to explore, play and learn.

Estrellita Pre-K

Estrellita is a phonics curriculum based on the structure of the Spanish language that is used in the preschool classes for Spanish dominant students. The curriculum begins with a chant of the letters of the alphabet that incorporates the initial sound of each letter. Estrellita assists with the transition to English by strengthening the students’ skills in their primary language during their early years.
